Muzzy Lane Author - Insights Tool In Action Muzzy Lane Software announced this week the release of Muzzy Lane Author , a cloud-based authoring service with extensible tools that put the power of developing dynamic game-based content in the hands of Muzzy Lane’s partners. The University of Northampton has launched a new master's degree in Serious Games, focusing on games used for training or education. Dr. Scott Turner, Associate Professor in Computing and Immersive Technologies at the University, said: “There are only three other universities offering such a course in the whole of Europe, and so we are very excited to be running it here at the University of Northampton, where we have academic staff with considerable experience in serious gaming.” “The Serious Games industry is already very big and will continue to grow. The Harvard Business Review published earlier this week a must read article by Martin Reeves and Georg Wittenburg titled Games Can Make You a Better Strategist . Martin is the Director of the Bruce Henderson Institute at The Boston Consulting Group and lead author of the new book  Your Strategy Needs a Strategy   (HBR Press, 2015). Developed in collaboration with Formula D Interactive , a creative team specializing in the production of Serious Games, Team C4 was unveiled on September 3 by BPESA (Business Process Enabling South Africa), a non-profit industry association for the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sector. With over 215,000 people employed, the contact center industry is one of South Africa’s major sources of employment and is one of the few industries accessible to a large percentage of RSA unemployed youth. Azahar Serious Games Improving The Autonomy Of People With Autism

Azahar (orange blossom in Spanish) is a platform for free, customizable applications and Serious Games designed to improve the quality of life and autonomy of people with autism and/or intellectual disability.  The applications contain pictograms, glyphs, images and sounds that can be adapted to each player: new pictograms, photos and voices of family members and friends can be added for personalizing the experience, adjusting it to the players’ needs according to the level of complexity they can handle. The applications, as well as the user guide that provides instructions for their use, are downloadable free of charge on the project website: www.proyectoazahar.org and available in Spanish, English, French and Polish. Bachelor Of Serious Games Opens @ USC In Australia

Aisha Darmansjah, 16, plans to study for a Bachelor of Serious Game Development at the University of the Sunshine Coast. The first ever semester of the University of the Sunshine Coast 's Bachelor of Serious Games Development has commenced on September 1, with enrollments open for 2016. The three-year undergraduate degree to be offered from next year is the only one of its kind in the world. USC Associate Professor Christian Jones, who developed the Serious Games Degree, said the idea was to use video games to change public attitudes and fix global problems. "One of the best ways to empower people, to change their lives, or to explain something is through story," says Prof Jones. "That's what we want to bring in: strong storytelling and strong ethics within video games that really enable people to change their world and their lives," he added.
