Upcoming Edugaming Conference For NJ, PA, MD, Del Area K-12 Teachers


Please find below the official announcement on the game-based learning conference for K-12 teachers in the greater Philadelphia and nearby border areas of NJ, Delaware and Maryland Monday-Tuesday, Aug 1-2.  Cost is only $50 because the conference is funded by the National Science Foundation.

Aug. 1-2 at Lehigh Carbon Community College; Cost $50 

PHILADELPHIA, Penn - Monday, July 11, 2016 --Through a grant from the National Science Foundation, Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, Penn, is offering area teachers a chance to upgrade their knowledge about game-based learning, Monday-Tuesday, Aug.1-2.  The cost is only $50, which includes lunch both days.

A few of the great speakers coming from across the country:

Tammie Schrader, Washington State, Educational Services
Schrader's presentation will be about her journey from never having played a video game to speaking at the White House on gamification and then taking that vision and expanding it to 59 school district throughout her state and region.

Lucas Blair, Little Bird Games, Raleigh
During this talk Dr. Blair will examine how the serious gaming community approaches learning and player engagement - and how we can do better. Attendees will leave the session inspired, with new ideas.

Ryan Schaaf, Notre Dame of Maryland University
Dr. Schaaf just released his third book, Reinventing Learning for the Always-On Generation: Strategies and Apps that Work.  He will also be doing a book signing at the conference.

Developers and teachers can also demo their games in the conference Game Arcade.
